Protocentral Sensything CAP combines a precision capacitance sensor (TI FDC1004) with an ESP32-S3, enabling accurate, wireless capacitive sensing for proximity and non-contact liquid-level applications. With built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and I2C support, it’s a powerful open-source platform for IoT, research, and smart sensing projects.

  • Powered by ESP32-S3: High-performance dual-core processor with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE for real-time wireless data logging and IoT applications.
  • FDC1004 Capacitive Sensing IC: Industry-grade 16-bit capacitance measurement with excellent noise immunity and temperature stability.
  • Plug-and-Play Design: Onboard voltage regulation, status LEDs, and headers make it easy to start sensing right away. Li-Poly battery charging and power management circuits on board. JST XH connector on-board. (Battery not included, Li-Poly/Li-Ion only)
  • Multiple Sensing Modes: Supports single-ended and differential capacitance measurements for proximity detection or non-contact liquid-level sensing (even through non-metallic tank walls).
  • QWIIC I2C Interface Support: Fully compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other I2C-enabled development platforms.
  • Extra SPI header: ESP32-S3’s SPI brought out on a standard 100mil pin header for expansion
  • Open-Source Hardware and Firmware: Complete design files, schematics, and example codes available for customization and rapid prototyping
