Skin Temperature
The Skin Temperature screen shows the current skin temperature reading from the watch’s MAX30205 sensor, located on the underside in contact with your wrist.
Skin temperature is a useful general-health indicator — sustained shifts can flag fever, environmental stress, or recovery state. For accurate readings, the watch must be worn against the skin; readings while not worn aren’t meaningful.
On-device trend graphs are planned for a future firmware update. For now, daily/weekly/monthly skin-temperature trends are available in the HealthyPi Move app after you sync. See Sync your Move.
How it’s measured
Move uses the MAX30205 medical-grade body temperature sensor. The IC sits below the bottom housing and reaches the skin via a small silver thermal-conductive contact above the lower gold electrode pad.
The sensor outputs digital readings via a high-resolution sigma-delta ADC, with accuracy in the order of ±0.1 °C across the normal physiological range. Skin temperature isn’t a direct measure of core body temperature — expect skin readings to run a few degrees below an oral or tympanic reading.
